Consultations & Training
Consultations
All of this is developed with the homeowner in mind, and is delivered in an easy to read and color coded format for ease of reference. As part of this package, Dominic can also offer onsite training in Lime mortar mixing, patch repairs and pointing to homeowners who wish to carry out some of the less complicated work themselves. As an avid researcher of traditional building styles and materials and having trained and worked extensively throughout Ireland, Dominic has a wide ranging knowledge of traditional stonemasonry and craft skill techniques, which he sensitively combines with the best of modern conservation practices to achieve the best possible results for his clients. Whether it is a completely new build that requires traditional techniques to blend it into the landscape or a historical structure that needs sensitive repairs, Memento Mori Stonework work closely with our clients to develop a design suited to their needs and achieve their goals.
Relying on over 20 years experience in working with stone, construction, conservation and traditional mortars, Dominic has developed a consultation service which he offers to owners of historical structures who may not know where to begin with their project. The sheer amount of conflicting information and methods available can be overwhelming for people, so Dominic offers tailor made packages ranging from a simple site visit, to an in depth report, scope of works, information on methods and even some historical background on the structure where possible.
